Brazil

Nathalia Aleme is a physiotherapist with a decade of experience in neurological rehabilitation. In addition to clinical practice, she has provided home care services to stroke patients. She says, “I focused on providing personalised care centered on the recovery and promotion of my patients’ health. On average, I attended to 10 to 15 individuals with stroke sequelae daily.”

Her therapeutic approach involved implementing individualised treatment plans, which encompassed a variety of techniques, including movement therapy, manual therapy, sensory stimulation, kinesiotherapy, neurodevelopmental treatment, and electrotherapy. Her goal has always been to improve the quality of life of patients and facilitate their return to Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).

She says, “When I learned about the Angels initiative, I realised that I could significantly expand my impact on stroke patient care. I am confident that I can contribute to expanding access to quality care in more hospitals, with the aim of substantially improving the quality of life of these patients and reducing the chances of neurological sequelae.

“I am excited about the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of more people affected by this condition, and I will always be committed to dedicating my efforts to this end.”
