Professor Ahmed Abdelalim is vice president of the Middle East and North Africa Stroke Organization (MENASO), and neurology professor and director of the stroke center at Cairo University, Egypt. 

Professor Abdelalim started his stroke career by training in the stroke unit at Lille University, France, and at the ESO Stroke Summer School. He later became a founding member of the Cairo University Stroke Center, member of the Egyptian Stroke Chapter stroke implementation program, and secretary of international Egyptian stroke conferences and joint regional MENASO conferences.

He is a current member of the Higher Committee of Stroke in the Ministry of Health, Egypt, member of the training committee of the World Federation of Neurology (WFN), and regional trainer in the WHO-supported East Mediterranean Association of Medical Editors (EMAME). He is also a Global Burden of Disease (GBD) collaborator, and a former member of the European Academy of Neurology (EAN) Stroke Panel.

An expert in Body Interact simulation and Brainomix training, he has accompanied Angels to remote regions in and beyond Egypt to improve stroke awareness, educate young neurologists and HCPs, and motivate centers to submit data in registries such as SITS and RES-Q.
