About this training
Welcome to the "NIHSS Online Training Course," an essential refresher course for healthcare professionals who have completed their NIHSS certification. This course standardizes the examination and scoring of the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), a widely used clinical assessment tool to measure neurological function and deficits in stroke patients, determine appropriate treatment, and predict patient outcomes.
Course Objective:
The primary objective of this course is to enhance your proficiency in using the NIH Stroke Scale to assess stroke patients accurately. By the end of this course, you will have deepened your understanding and practical use of the NIHSS, ensuring improved accuracy in patient evaluations.
Course Structure:
The course consists of three modules:
- Module 1: Use the NIH Stroke Scale to assess the stroke patient (Moderator: Dr. Anna Ramos, Barcelona).
- Module 2: Continue with an in-depth learning module to deepen your understanding and practical use of the NIH Stroke Scale.
- Module 3: Assess the patient in the second NIHSS evaluation video to see how much your accuracy has improved (Moderator: Dr. Anna Ramos, Barcelona).
Course Duration:
The eLearning course is designed to be completed in approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Course Certificate:
To receive the certificate, it is necessary to complete all three modules with all activities. Upon successful completion, you will receive a certificate of completion, acknowledging your enhanced skills in using the NIH Stroke Scale.
